Emma Kauer Conn, daughter of Harvey and Josie Kolars Kauer, was born August 1, 1901, near Cuba, and died at her home in Belleville, on February 19, 1986, at the age of 84 years, six months and 18 days. She received her education at the Meter Rural School east of Cuba. She attended Fruit Hill Church. She was united in marriage to Thomas Blazek in 1918 and to this union one daughter, Viola was born. He died November 21, 1919. She was united in marriage to Anton Havel and to this union two children were born, Venis Dean and LaVonne. He died January 18, 1946. She was united in marriage to Clifford Conn on August 27, 1950. He died June 8, 1966. She moved to Belleville in 1947, She was employed at the south Kravmore for several years as a baker and cook. She and her husband, Clifford were employed as custodians at the Peoples National Bank, prior to his death. She was also preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Wesley, Eddie, Willie and Frankie; and two sisters, Rosa Kaliovda and Julie. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Lad (Viola) Drapal of Cuba, Mrs. Louis (Venis Dean) Kasper of Haddam, Mrs. Clarence (Lavonne) Thomas of Camarillo, Calif.; one step-son, Clarence Havel of Topeka, one brother, Elmer Kauer of Chester; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Kalivoda of Cuba, Mrs. Lillian Ettleman and Mrs. Stella Bednar, both of Belleville; five grandchildren, Alvin and Esther Kasper, Janice Carrico, Trudy Ringer, Susan Montague; nine great grandchildren, Kevin, Kurtis, Kyle Carrico, Crystal and Jennifer Kasper, Catherine and Jason Montague, Russell and Tars Ringer. Funeral services were held at the Central Christian Church of Belleville, on February 22, conducted by Rev. Lon Hardy. Interment was in Belleville Cemetery.
