Anton A. Havel, son of Adolph and Anna Havel, was born September 28, 1892, near Cuba in Richland township, Republic County, Kansas and departed this life January 18, 1946 at the age of 53 years, 3 months and 21 days. He was united in marriage to Daisy Baxa and to this union, one son, Clarence Dale, was born. His wife preceded him in death in 1921. He was a loyal member of the Z. C. B. J. of Cuba, and was engaged in farming all his life near Cuba, Kansas. On March 14, 1922, he was united in marriage to Emma Kauer Blazek. To this union were born two daughters, Venis Dean and LaVonne. He also leaves to mourn a step-daughter, Viola. Surviving are his beloved wife, Emma Havel; Clarence and his wife, Emma, of Topeka; Venis Dean and her husband, Louis Kasper of Narka; Viola and her husband. Lad Drapel, of Cuba and LaVonne of the home; one granddaughter, Janice La Vona Drapel; his brothers and sisters, Mrs. Emma Klauman of Clay Center; Mrs. Mary Junek of Cuba and Mrs. Anna Boling of Abilene; James, Joe, Melik of Cuba; Charles of Agenda, Henry of Belleville, Edward of Salem, Ore., Lodis of Venice, Cal., and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church at Cuba, Kan., at 2:00 p. m., Sunday afternoon, January 20, 1946 by Rev. John Frint of Wayne. He was laid to rest at the Kopsa Cemetery.
