Obituary 2 Mar 1922  Belleville, Republic, Kansas, USA Find all individuals with events at this location  [9
    Belleville Telescope and Bellville Freeman
    • Addie Pearl Walker Peters was born at Mankato, Kansas on the 18th day of December, 1879, and die at her home in Narka, Kansas, on the 13th day of February, 1922, at the age of 4 years, 1 month and 26 days.

On the second day of December, 1896, she was united in marriage to James Austin Peters, at Mankato, Kansas. To this union were born 10 children, two preceding their mother in death.

In 1904 the family moved from Mankato to Narka, Kansas, where they resided until death called her to her reward.

The deceased leaves to mourn her untimely death, her beloved husband James Austin Peters, who will miss her companionship in his lonely walk through life: three daughters, Mrs. Nina Mable Love, of Mahaska; Mrs. Pansy Waltman, of Haddam; and Miss Mary Marguerite Peters, of Narka, Kas.; five sons George W., at Honolulu, Hawaii; Austin Walker, Leslie Ryal, Donald Marlen, and Neal Marvin, all of Narka, Kas. All of whom will miss the tender love and care of a loving mother so much needed. Her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. George R. Walker of Mankato, Kas.; two brothers Herbert and Lester Walker, of Mankato, Kas.; two sisters, Mrs. S. Strom, of Otego, Kas, and Mrs. M. L. Van Meter, of Mankato, Kas., together with numerous other relatives and friends.

The deceased was ready to go, although she realized her need with the family, and would have liked to remain with them in order that she might help where she was so much needed, but submissive to her Creator. A short time after her last operation the writer while calling, heard her say that everything was well, she said, "if it is God's will I am ready to go." In her early youth she gave herself to her Savior, and although busy days with little loved ones to care for did not permit her to attend church services as she would liked to have done, still in the days of need she trusted in Him from whom cometh all help.

As a wife, Mrs. Peters was true and faithful, a kind and loving companion, making the home a cheerful place to be. As a mother she was long suffering, sacrificing, and loving, caring for those entrusted to her when physically unable, but whether life or death she was willing to serve them with all her strength until God said "enough". As a neighbor she was kind, gentle, and a friend to everybody, and her presence will be missed everywhere she was known.

The services were held in the M. E. church at Narka, Kas., the Rev. R. J. Zeidler preaching the sermon. The body was laid to its last resting place in the Maple Grove cemetery at Narka.
