      Milek, son of Anton and Frances Trecek, was born in Cuba, Kas., Sept 23, 1879 and passed away July 7, 1967 at Pawnee City, Neb., at the age of 87 years, nine months and 14 days. He spent his early years on the Family farm near Cuba. On Jan. 31, 1910 he was united in marriage to Josie Popelka. To this union were born three sons. They farmed near Cuba until 1932 when they moved to near DuBois, Neb., where he continued to farm until 1952 when he retired. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Joseph, Tony and Charles; five sisters, Mrs. Tressie Havel, Mrs. Frances Svoboda, Mrs. Mary Ooupnik, Mrs. Amelia Tuma and Erma Trecek. Surviving are his wife Josei and three sons, Ben, Leon and Lad all of DuBois, Neb.; one sister Mrs. Tillie Cerny, Cuba; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

      Anton Trecek was born September 16, 1844 in Brandlin county, Dacice in Moravia. He was born just two years before the famous Prussian war was waged upon the Austrians. He died Sunday, August 4. At the age of twenty-one he was united in marriage to Miss Frances Nemec, who passed away in January of this year. He came with his wife to America in 1879 and lived near Cuba in Republic county up to the year 1909 when they moved to town. This marriage was blessed with twelve children, seven of whom preceeded him in death. He leaves to mourn his loss, three sons, Antoc, Charles and Milek; two daughters, Mrs. Tillie Cherny and Mrs. Amelia Tuma of Wayne; forty-five grandchildren and. thirty-three great-grandchildren, besides many other relatives and friends. On the day of his departure he was 84 years, 10 months and 14 days old, He found his greatest happiness surrounded by his children and was loved by all who came in contact with him. His life was one of devotion and love for his children. He was a quiet and industrious man, and it may be said of him—"The gray head is a crown of glory, if it be found in the way of righteousness." Rev. Vaclav Kejr had charge of the funeral services. Tuesday both at the home and at the cemetery. Interment was made in the Kopsa cemetery

      Josie P. Trecek, daughter of Frank and Barbara Popelka, was born in Missouri on March 18, 1886 and died November 11,1975 at Pawnee City, Nebr. She lived her younger days in the Belle Plaine, Iowa vicinity. On January 31, 1910 she was united in marriage to Milek Trecek. They bought a farm one and one-half miles northeast of Cuba, Kansas. They moved to a farm near DuBois, Nebraska in 1952 and for the last 2 years she lived at the Pawnee City Manor. Preceding her in death were both her parents, her husband, and three brothers; Joe, Rudolph, and Charles. Surviving her departure are her three sons; Ben of Pawnee City Manor, Leon and Lad of DuBois, five brothers and sisters; Robert and Emma Popelka, Agnes Novak, Albina Houdek of Munden, Kansas, and Will Popelka of Belleville, five grandchildren, and seven greatgrandchildren. Funeral services were held Thursday, November 13,1975 at 2:00 p.m. at the United Methodist church, DuBois, Nebr., with Rev. Ward Merritt and Rev. T. J. Fraser, officiating.
