      Emma Krob, daughter of Anton and Tressie Trecek Havel, was born July 1, 1890 on a farm near Cuba, and died January 8, 1973 at the Republic County hospital in Belleville, at the age of 82 years.

      She was united in marriage with Charles Krob on February 23, 1909, at Belleville. To this union two children were born.

      Mrs. Krob lived in the Cuba community her entire life. The couple farmed near Cuba until 1940, when they moved into town. The past several years she had lived with her daughter until she was hospitalized two months ago.

      She was preceded in death by her husband Charles on January 30, 1967, by four brothers, her parents and step-mother.

      Survivors include one son, Tony and wife Marie of Cuba, one daughter, Blanche Slavik and husband, Erney of Narka, six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Alfred and Henry Havel, both of Belleville, and one sister, Anna Cherney, of Cuba.

      Memorial services were held at the United Presbyterian church in Cuba, with the Rev. Fred Mansfield officiating. Burial was at the Kopsa Cemetry.

      Anton Havel was born December 1, 1867, in the county, Rokycany, Kroj Plaensky in Czechoslovakia and passed away at the Patterson Memorial hospital in Belleville, January 27, 1945, at the age of 77 years, 1 month and 2 days. With his parents, brothers and sisters at the age of 10 years, he came to Kansas from Czechoslovakia and located in Republic county in May, 1878. Here he helped his parents with farming until manhood. He was united in marriage to Tressie Trecek, September 28, 1888. To this union were born six children; two boys died in infancy. His wife passed away September 9, 1900. On September 5, 1907, he was united in marriage to Anna Krasny, To this union were born two sons who passed away in early life. His wife preceded him in death January 21, 1940. Most of his life was spent farming and in 1920 he retired and moved to Cuba, where he resided until his death. Since 1940 he had been living with his daughter, Mrs. Charles Krob, in Cuba. He leaves to mourn his passing his sons, Henry, Cuba, and Alfred, Belleville; his daughters, Mrs. Emma Krob, Cuba, and Mrs, Anna Cherney, Agenda, To cherish his memory are 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Anton Havel were conducted from the home on Monday afternoon, January 29, 1945, with Joe Krhounek officiating. Interment was made at the Kopsa cemetery.

      Charles Krob, son of Frank and Anna Krob, was born on a farm near Cuba, Kan., Aug. 29, 1885 and passed away at his home in Cuba, Kan., Jan. 30, 1967 at the age of 81 years. He was united in marriage to Emma Havel, Feb. 23, 1909. To this union two children were born. They farmed near Cuba until 1940 when they retired and moved into Cuba. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Frank; two half-sisters, Frances Mottl and Anna Krob; step-mother, and one grandson. Survivors include his wife of the home; son, Tony of Cuba; daughter, Mrs. Erney Slavik of Narka; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Joe Shepek of Belleville and Mrs. Frank Krasny of Cuba. Memorial services were held at the Cuba United Presbyterian church with Rev. Fred Mansfield in charge. Interment was made at the Kopsa cemetery.
