Frank Krob, sr., was born January 23, 1865, Sykorice, County Krivoklat in Czechoslovakia, and died July 26 at Cuba, Kansas, at the age of 85 years, 6 months, and 3 days. Mr. Krob, an orphan at the age of five, came to this country in 1874 with an uncle and aunt. They lived near ??? until 1880 when they moved to Republic County. On April 14, 1884 he was united in marriage to Miss Anna Shindler. To this union two boys and two girls were born. In 1896 his wife passed away. February 15, 1897 he married Miss Mary Prochazka and two children were born to this marriage. Mr. Krob was preceded in death by his second wife, who died in 1928, a daughter who died at the age of two, and his son, Frank, who passed away March 15, 1950. He is survived by his son, Charles of Cuba, three daughters, Mrs. Emma Shipek, Mrs. Mary Krasny of Wayne, Mrs Frances Mottl of Cuba, 12 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends. For many years Mr. Krob was a member of the Western Bohemian Fraternal association. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon, July 28, at Cuba Presbyterian church with the Rev. S. E. Yemm and Joseph Krohounek officiating. Interment was in Bohemian National cemetery at Cuba.

This community was saddened by the news of the death of one of our most beloved women, Mrs. Frank Krob. She was a loving mother and she is sadly missed by everyone who knew her. She died at her home near Cuba, February 24, aged 50 years, 11 months and 28 days, after a long illness. Mrs. Mary Krob, nee Prochaska, was born February 25, 1877 in Raj, county Caslay, Czecho Slovakia. She came with her widowed mother to this country when she was seven years old, settling in Omaha, Nebraska. A year later they moved to Republic county, near Cuba, Kansas. The mother was married to Mr. Frank Shipek, and the daughter, when twenty years old, was married to Mr. Frank Krob on February 15, 1897. To this union were born two daughters, Annie, who died when she was two years old, and Frances, now Mrs. Frank Mottle. Decease leaves to mourn her loss, her husband, Mr. Frank Krob; one daughter, Mrs. Frances Mottle; two step-daughters, Emma Shipek and, Mary Karsny, both of Wayne; two step-sons, Charlie and Frank Krob, both of Cuba; three step-brothers, F. J. Shipek of Cuba, Mike Shipek of Narka, Joe Shipek of Wayne and one half-brothers, Milek Shipek of Cuba; two step-sisters, Mary Lesovsky and Barbara Kalivoda of Narka; and two half-sisters, Anna Plevka and Frances Skocny, all of Cuba. There are also many other relatives and friends to mourn her death. Funeral services were conducted from the home Sunday afternoon, Mr. Joseph Mottl having charge. Interment was made in the Kopsa cemetery.
