Frank Novak, son of Mr. and Mrs. Vaclav Novak, was born in Bohemia on April 5, 1870, and died at his home near Perry, Okla,, on September 28, 1939, at the age of 69 years, 5 months and 23 days. He was 11 years old when his parents came to this country in 1882, and they, settled in Republic county. He was one of the pioneers who flooded, over the Kansas line into the Cherokee Strip in Oklahoma on September 16, 1893, and failing to get a claim then, stayed on to make his home there, buying a farm near Red Rock within a year. He had since made his home there. Mr. Novak was a member of the early day police force in Perry and until a year ago was active in all civic gatherings in Noble county. Me was a member of the Red Rock lodge of the I.O.O.F., and attended the Presbyterian church. He had been in the threshing business during the past 20 years, and traveled throughout all of north central Oklahoma. Surviving are John Novak of Red Rock, Okla., Wesley Novak and Mary Novak of Munden, and Charles Novak of Narka, his brothers and sister. Funeral services were held in the Davis Funeral home in Perry Sunday afternoon, October 1 in the charge of the Rev. Davis Thomas, pastor of the Presbyterian church. Interment was made in the Bohemian cemetery.
