HANS NELSON Ida Sophia Holmberg, daughter of Erick and Christine Holmberg, was born November 21, 1886 at Wymore, Nebr., and died June 13, 1973 at the Sunset Home, Concordia, at the age of 86 years, six months and 23 days. She grew up in the Wayne community. She was married December 15, 1909 to Hans Nelson. Four children were born to this union. She was a memlier of the American Swedish church at Wayne and later a member of the English Methodist church at Wayne. She served her church as pianist and was active in the Ladies Aid. In 1940 they moved to Cuba and in 1955 they moved to Scahdia. She was a member of the Scandia United Methodist church. She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, one sister, and her husband who died Feb. 11, 1970. Survivors are three sons: Lloyd and wife, Mirian of Scandia, Clare of Denver, Colo., Curtis and wife, Betty of Lawrence, her daughter, Edna and husband, Joe Neill of Concordia, nine grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, her brother, Victor Holmberg of Belleville, three sisters; Mrs. Alma Lindamood of Lincoln, Nebr., Mrs. Minnie Johnson and Mrs. Mabel Ekstrom both of Agenda. Funeral service for Mrs. Nelson was at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 16, 1973, at the Scandia Methodist church, the Reverend Lyle Miller officiating. Interment was in Rose Hill cemetery near Wayne.
