Victor Deroy Holmberg, son of Erick and Christina Holmberg was born November 21, 1901, at Wayne, Kans. and died September 8, 1982, at Belleville, at the age of 80 years, nine months, 18 days. His early years were spent in Wayne, attending grade school and graduating from Wayne two year high school. He did construction work, and was engaged in farming. He was baptized in the Wayne Swedish Church and later became a member of the United Methodist Church of Belleville. December 7, 1930, he was united in marriage to Lela Danielson, and to this union two children were born. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and three sisters. He is survived by his wife, Lela, of the home; children, Gerald Holmberg, of Belleville and Mrs. Gerald (Sharon) Odgers of Olathe; two sisters, Minnie Johnson and Mabel Ekstrom, both of Agenda; grandchildren, Kyle, Suzanne, and Tricia Holmberg of Belleville, Dennis and David Odgers of Olathe. Funeral services were held at the First United Methodist Church of Belleville, September 11 conducted by Rev. James Graves and John Frint. Interment was in Rose Hill Cemetery.
