Frank Novak, son of Anton and Mary (Kvasnicka) Novak, was born September 30, 1877 in Tabor, Czechoslovakia and passed away at the Belleville Rest home, Belleville, KS. on August 12, 1968 at the age of 90. He came to America with his parents when he was two years old. He grew to manhood in the Narka community. In 1899 he married Lucy Phillips. They lived on a farm near Narka, then moved to Idaho. He worked for the railroad until his retirement. From Spokane, Wash., he moved to Peru, Nev., then to Narka where he lived until entering the rest home. To this union five children were born. His wife Lucy, and four children preceded him in death, Hazel Bonner, Gaile Healy, Boyd and Frieda. Survivors are his son, Jess and wife Lola, three sisters, Mrs. Rose Goodrich, Warrenton, Ore., Mrs. Adelaide Kubes, Narka, Mrs. Anna Phillips, Cheney, Wash.; one brother, Edward of Narka, 13 grandchildren, several great-grand children and three great-great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Thursday, August 15 at 2:00 p.m. at the Denton Memorial hall of Narka, Kan., conducted by Joseph Carle. Interment was in the National Cemetery south of Narka, Kansas.

Anton Novak, son of Simon and Mary Novak, was born in 1854 in Predboise county, Kroj Tabor, Czechoslovakia, and passed away at his home in Narka April 2, 1944 at the age of 89 years, 10 months and ? days. In 1877 he was united in marriage to Miss Marie Kvasnicka and to this union were born 11 children, four sons and 7 daughters, one son Charley and two daughters, Mrs. Emma Hawel and infant Emily, preceded him in death. In 1879 they came to America to a farm near Narka, later moved to Idaho in 1907, returned in 1909 to their farm near Narka where they lived until 1926 when they retired to Narka and he has made his home there since that time. He leaves to mourn his passing his loving wife, three sons, Frank of Spokane, Wash., Tony and Edward of Narka; five daughters, Mrs. Anna Phillips of Cheney, Wash., Mrs. Rose Goodrich of Ore., Mrs. Adelaide Kubes of Hubbell, Neb. Mrs. Mary Cerny and Mrs. Elsie Klima of Narka, 23 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grand children; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral Services were held at the home Thursday April 6th conducted by Joseph Krhounek of Cuba. Interment was in the National Cemetery south of Narka, Kansas.
