Page 8Anna Pipal Lahodny Anna Pipal Lahodny was born in Bohemia, Europe, April 1, 1847, and passed away at her home near Cuba, May 7, 1936, at the age of 89 years, 1 month, and 6 days. In 1875 she was united in marriage to John Lahodny. Five children were born to this union, two sons, and three daughters. One daughter died in infancy. In 1880 she came to America and went through all the hardships of pioneering in this locality. She was a devoted wife and mother, and loved her home. She lived and worked for her family. The needs of her loved ones and others occupied her thoughts so much that often she forgot her own needs. She was of a quiet and retiring nature. When the infirmities of her old age compelled her to cease from her strenuous work, her children took care of her lovingly to the end. She is survived by her two sons, Joseph A. of Cuba and Frank B. of Narka; two daughters, Rose Lahodny of Cuba and Mrs. Emma Pelecky of Omaha, Neb., seven grandchildren, and many other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon from the family home with the Rev. George Kmecik officiating. Interment was made in the New Tabor Cemetery. We miss thee from our home dear mother We miss thee from the place A shadow o'er out life is cast We miss the sunshine of thy face, We miss thy kind and loving hand, Thy fond and earnest care; Our home is dark without thee We miss thee everywhere. Yes A loving one from us is gone A voice we loved is stilled; A place is vacant in our homes That never can be filled.
