Through a double line of 3 hundred school mates, with six little fellows form his own room as honorary pallbearers, and classmates as a marching guard of honer, the body of Matthew Heck jr., 7, killed in an auto accident, was taken to St. Joseph's church this morning for funeral services. It was a tribute to the memory of a little boy, beloved by all who knew him. and in addition was an impressive ceremony calling home the need of constant vigilance to avoid traffic accidents. Children of St. Joseph's Catholic school, where Matthew was a pupil of the second grade, formed a line from Sixteenth to Seventeenth streets on Center and south to the entrance of the church at 1730 South Seventeenth street. Through this the procession proceeded to the church headed by the six little honorary pallbearers, all of the second grade of the school, and friends of Matthew. They were all of his age except Francis Fillbach who is 8. The others were Andrew Pollreiss, Joseph Schlinger, Joseph Saucler, Matthew Holzapfel and John Regner. Six of the bigger boys from the eighth grade served as active pallbearers. Children of the second grade marched beside the hearse to the church, followed by the automobiles. Before the entrance, the little casket was opened, and the children - grownups to the number of 2 hundred, including the teachers, friends, and of the dead boy, and Mr. and Mrs. Seidler, passed by into the edifice, pausing for an instant to look at the little fellow. Tears coursed sown the cheeks of A. J. Seidler, whose car had struck him. "I could grieve no more, if the boy were one of my own" he said. The funeral services consisted of requiem mass, conducted by Father Magnien. Many floral tributes were received. Following the service at the church burial took place in St. Mary Magadalene's cemetery.
